We are now selling the Unicorn™ brand plastic, screw cap, flat bottom, autoclavable test tubes. These are made by Unicorn and each tube measures 24 mmX100 mm. These are nice for starting cultures in limited spaces, running experiments with many treatments, and for shipping. Contact me for more information or see catalog. kck@turbonet.com

Tubes are polypropylene, autoclavable but do not work well with microwave processing; autoclavable test tube rack holds 24 tubes; rack plus 25 tubes with caps = $17.00 plus shipping NOTE: we also sell these by the case (500). Contact me for pricing.

"How to use these"

Media can be prepared in microwave. All everything but agar. Adjust pH to desired
level. Add agar and microwave for 5 minutes. Stir and microwave another 5 minutes.
Agar should be completely melted. Microwave longer if needed. Pour about 10 ml per tube. Put caps on loosely. Autoclave for 15-20 minutes. Agitate after removing from pressure cooker
to mix agar. Cool.
